Dyspraxia Association of Ireland

The main aims of the Dyspraxia Association are:
- To aid, assist, by any means, counsel, support, including the provision of a support network, and advocate on behalf of, people with Dyspraxia and the families and carers of people with Dyspraxia;
- To raise awareness of Dyspraxia;
- To gather information on Dyspraxia and to provide such information to the Association, people with Dyspraxia, carers of people with Dyspraxia, the Health Service Executive, the Government, statutory and non-statutory agencies and service providers to ensure adequate resources and available to meet the needs of people with Dyspraxia;
- To encourage, and where resources and available, to fund research into and connected with Dyspraxia;
- To organise activities for people with Dyspraxia;
- To liaise and link, formally and informally, with other groups involved in the area of special needs and disability, where similar interests exist;
What We Do
The Dyspraxia Association of Ireland is active in the following areas
- Promoting awareness of Dyspraxia in Ireland in order to create a better understanding of the difficulties children and parents face
- Working and liaising with other related organisations, particularly those dealing with spectrum disorders
- Lobbying government departments and relevant bodies in the areas of education, health and therapies etc
- Providing a national telephone information and help line, distributing information packs circulating newsletters to members
- Organising annual conferences with professional speakers and giving presentations to schools and colleges
- Liaising with our regional support groups throughout the country
- Fundraising for all the above

- Educational Psychologist for Children and Teens
- Occupational Therapy Asessment for Adults
- Drama Therapist for Children and Teens
- Art Therapist for Children and Teens
We also have a lending library service available for members use.
